I believe I have really progressed my art skills throughout Level 3 year 1 and 2. I have had many great achievements thanks to my sense of will power and extreme effort to succeed in my projects.
I have many achievements to highlight my development, such as a table cloth I created for an FMP. It was covered in designs of a banquet for a roast dinner. The roast dinner was inspired by my Christmas dinner. I painted the food with acrylic paint on a single bed sheet and then hand stitched around the painted objects with textile. Creating this table cloth gave me a chance to expand myself, to be unpredictable and use different medias that wouldn’t usually go together.
I remember in Level3 year 1 for my final major project I created a wood sculpture based on an epic love story of the Greek mythology Calyx and Alcyone. That time I really introduces my wood work skills and I continue to progress at it.
Ever since I joined Level 3 year 1 my sketchbook work has massively improved. I’ve really learnt to express individuality to how I present my experiments and sketches. And I’ve noticed ever since then I have really learnt that I’ve unlimited.
Personally I believe whilst working on my Final Major Project I need to work on time management. I always manage to meat the deadline but the issue is I’m always rushing to finish on time, so if time wasn’t a problem I could fill my sketchbook , have fun with my work and relax.
With my Final Major Project I want to expand my art skills and not use the same materials every time for each project. Since it’s quarantine different medias are limited so for most projects I tend to use wood work to sculpture objects but this time I wan’t to create something big and epic since this will be my last project in College Menai. I had a suggestion from a class mate to use textile because she remembered how skilled I was two years ago. I believe you should stick to what you know since we have limited time this time and I am very familiar to a needle and thread so I may consider her advice.
